Setting Up My Planner Dashboard
I also had received some gorgeous paper in an ephemera swap I took part in over at the Dream, Create, Journal Facebook Group. It is so beautiful and I knew it would look beautiful as a dashboard. The paper is double sided and features the work by the artist Maria Pace Wynters - mariapacewynters.com. I cut the paper to size, then put it through my laminator to make the dashboard.
Finally for the dashboard area I used a gorgeous junk journal style tag from Susie Bray over at QueenMabelandDoris. I love how it all looks so fresh and all the elements compliment each other. The metal clip I brought in a set from Ali Express - Metal Binder Clips.
My Current Planner Insert
One thing I am totally in love with is this perfect Rainbow Bright Travelers Notebook insert which is from the lovely Stephanie from Scurry and Peck, it is so pretty and uses dot grid paper that is of an excellent quality and vintage Rainbow Bright wallpaper for the cover. It's so unique and compliments the inside of the dashboard perfectly. We joked that the girl on the left is like Rainbow Brights older sister.
So there we have it, my summer planner set up, so bright and pretty. I love it all and it motivates me to keep going back to my planner...not that I need an excuse! What's your current set up? Pop me a comment, would love to know what planners you are using. You can tag me on social media using #kmmam (Kerrymay Makes a Mess) my Facebook Group.
1. Full Planner Kit Vertical Layout:
Even though I use a blank notebook for my planning pages I like to use vertical layouts. I was struggling on how to do this in a regular travelers notebook, but think I nailed it with this layout. It's one I'm definitely going to repeat. The beautiful kit is from Kelly over at Hazy Days UK, use code HAZY15 too for 15% off and add KERRY to the notes for my free sampler sheet.
2. Photo Kit Planner Layout:
This is a gorgeous vertical layout uses a photo kit that I won in the raffle at Cambs Planner Con and is made by the lovely Managing Mischief Co... go check them out.
3. Hand drawn and Stickers Planner Layout:
My favourite planner page spread that I have done. I was directing Wizard of Oz, so drew out a design, then added a variety of stickers and writing. Most stickers are from Hazy Days UK.
4. Vintage Style Planner layout:
Every now and then I like to change things up a bit and make my page more like my Creative Journaling pages. Here I used Tim Holtz stamps to distress the page, then added vintage ephemera. You can see the process video for this here - Plan With Me Vintage Planner Layout
5. Horizontal Planner Layout:
Sometimes I miss my Carpe Diem Planner and prefer the horizontal layout, so I keep it simple with washi tape and stickers.
6. Busy Bujo Planner Layout
I love how this page has a mix of everything; doodles, stickers, check boxes and washi strips.
I hope this has inspired you to get creative with your planner layouts. What's your preferred planning style and what layouts do you use? Drop me a comment below.
Take Care, Kerry xx
Guest Post for Ugly Bug Plans
This is a guest post from the lovely Michelle over at Ugly Bug Plans, the maker of the gorgeous Ugly Dori travelers notebooks along with her husband Trevor. I haven't done a flip through or current setup of my planner for a while so thought I would share how I am currently using my stunning Ugly Dori.
This post contains affiliate links in partnership with Etsy, which means I may get a small commission if you purchase through my link.
How I am Currently Using my Travelers Notebook:
My Ugly Dori is my main planner and I have been in it since January of 2018 without changing it. I obviously change around the notebooks and the dashboards and pockets to fit the seasons, but I haven't changed the actual notebook cover or planner itself. The planner is beautiful, so roomy with an extra re-enforced spine. It holds so much. I currently have 5 notebooks in the planner, but could easily get in 2 more, possibly 3 with extra jump bands.

4. Latest Bullet Journal/Lists Journal
5. Old Bujo Lists Journal

Christmas Travelers Notebook Inserts
The Christmas inserts are amazing and came from the lovely Susie Bray over at Queen Mabel and Doris over on Etsy, as member of her PR team I got to see them before they went on sale. Use code QMDFRIEND15 for 15% off and visit the fb group queenmabelanddoris. Below is a video of the stunning inserts and how I will be using them in my Christmas Planner setup.
If viewing from email or a reader click here to view the video.
As you will see from the video there are a variety of notebooks available which you can purchase here (don't forget the code QMDFRIEND15).
Firstly there is a weekly/monthly planner for the Christmas months and beyond. This will be my go to planner specifically for Christmas planning and won't have my day to day planning in it, you can see in the video and below how I have decorated some of the pages. The pages and covers are so smooth and you can choose which paper set you would like too - bonus!
Next is the Christmas organiser insert, which features a variety of pages from Christmas films, meal planning, advent calendar countdown, decorations, family traditions, planned days out, Christmas crafts and gifts to buy and received.
The final two consist of a Christmas Budget Planner insert and a December Daily insert which is blank for you to decorate. I do want to keep up to date with a December Daily this year, I only got to day 3 and gave up last Christmas!!!
I can honestly say that I WILL use every single page of these notebooks. I made my own last year, but they were nowhere near as detailed as these, hats off to Susie and Carole for creating them.
So that's my bit of Christmas all planned for nice and early, do check Susie's shop on Etsy (QMDFRIEND15) and why not have a go at creating your own travelers notebook from the tutorial I followed. It is so easy, only took me half an hour and that's because I didn't have a large needle. I am hooked and will be making many more for presents and myself to try out other sizes...I mean 6 tn's isn't enough right?
Let me know your thoughts below and Merry Christmas... I mean have a great end of the Summer holidays,

The Planner Society Plan With Me Video:
As well as the front cover of the notebook, I also decorated the inside cover and added a functional pocket to house some of my lovely Planner Society stickers that were sent as part of the happy mail. Have a look below at my PWM process video. If you are viewing this from a reader or email please click the following link:
Creative Journaling - The Planner Society April Kit
I really love the finished product and managed to decorate the cover and inside cover and still managed to save the lovely flip book and have goodies left over. I'm going to use it as a journal, not daily, but a place to write down my thoughts when I need to or feel the urge. I'm just waiting for my new Jane Davenport Travelers Notebook to arrive now which will be it's new home ._.
Hopefully this post has inspired you to use your Planner Society and ephemera/papers for something other than your planner and to help you if you have been hoarding the pretties. Do pop me a comment below to let me know what you think or over on the You Tube video.
Have a great week,
It's been 6 months since I last shared a flip through of my Travelers Notebook every day planner (my Uglydori), so I thought it would be a great idea to post another video update as part of the 6 monthly review post for the Planner Girls Collective showing my current setup for June 2017 and my weekly and monthly layouts.
Travelers Notebook Flip Through Video:
Travelers Notebook Setup:
There have been lots of changes since my last share, some new things put in, some things taken out, a whole new collection of inserts, dashboard dividers and updated pages for my weekly and monthly planner pages, layouts and spreads. The dividers, tabs and general set up uses the gorgeous travelers notebook kit from Isabelle The Owl and it is stunning, with the clip from Shona at Away With Fairies Co.
Travelers Notebook Inserts:
I have also added some gorgeous inserts from Susie Bray, a blog planner and a Pr Tracker.
Queen Mabel and Doris over on Etsy, you can use code QMDFRIENDS15 for 15% off and visit the fb group queenmabelanddoris
Finally I have added some vellum inserts with my own pixel art work on them, they didn't print very well (printing on vellum is hard without a laser printer), but I still like how they look and like to have some of my own art work in my planner.
