My word of the year 2021 is NEW. Join me in a look through my bullet journal pages in the beginning of my new travelers notebook bujo insert.
Welcome to 2021... we all had high expectations for 2021 and leaving behind the awful year that was 2020, however it's not been a great start has it? Back in a full lockdown as serious as the one in March, schools closed and back to online learning and covid rates that are higher than in March and April last year.
So here's to the NEW, however strange that may be... New Beginnings, New Starts, The New Normal, New Adaptations and feeling like we are back to being 'New' to it all again!
I decided to see the year as a new page and a new start. I can't say I have enjoyed 2020, we have suffered loss, heartache and it's just generally been a struggle, especially being single and living alone. It has been a massive drain, lonely and a lot of hard work teaching at home, then back in school with restrictions (I teach drama), then back online again with live lessons.
So I am trying to see the positives in the new start. These journal pages will be a reminder that although it's all new we can get through it no matter what life throws at us.
The start of my new bullet journal is a reminder of that and a renewed sense of hope (a word I was toiling with using). However, NEW fits my scenario better, especially with me adapting to teaching live lessons from home. I am enjoying it, but it is a lot of work adapting everything from practical to theory and I am working up to 70 hours a week whilst I learn to adapt to it all. There is hope thankfully with the new vaccines - fingers crossed for a brighter future.
2020 in Review in my Bullet Journal
To finish the last page of my old bullet journal, I decided to create a year in review page, summarising 2020 and all it's madness over 2 pages. I did learn lots of new things last year, new baking skills, new buzz words, new ways of living and working and I learnt to hula hoop (properly with tricks) - check out my hooping Instagram here. Kerrymay Hoops. I also managed to get my garden fixed up with saving money from not being able to go on holiday.
I have been keeping journals about the pandemic, but a lot of the pages are very personal, but you can see some of the not so personal ones here and some tips to help you to be creative during lockdown.
I'm on journal 3 now. Hopefully I can get some kind of flip through up in the near future on my You Tube channel.
So here's to the NEW, out with the old.
2021... I'm forever hopeful, lets see the new renewed hope of the Nation and The World. What's your word of the year? Do let me know in the comments.
