One summer in 1990 we decided that instead of a holiday we would visit places in Derbyshire every Sunday. As my mama was poorly and couldn't get to visit, I decided to create this journal for her. I saved leaflets and took lots of photographs to include in it and dedicated a page to each place we visited with a write up that I filled in each week.
You can see my flip through of the full journal below, don't forget to subscribe too.
It is such a lovely journal to look back on and actually made me teary in places when looking back on lost loved ones. I also loved how it has got that vintage look about it with the browned pages (mainly from me making my own glue using flour and water!) I also love how I included drawings from my school trips as well as photographs, such lovely memories.
I highly recommend you to make a travel journal wherever you go, especially if you can do them with children, they are such lovely things to look back on. I now have several which you can see here.

At the end of my journal I added a photo gallery section, another great way of memory keeping.
Do you keep scrapbooking style journals? and do you have any hidden gems that you may have forgotten about too? If you haven't then what are you waiting for, get logging those journeys and your travels, you won't regret it I promise.
