I realise that I haven't posted any art journaling or art tutorials and updates for quite a while and that's partly because I haven't really had the time to play with my paints or pens. However since I became a member of the Mrs Brimbles Arty Creative Team I have allowed my self more time to mess around with paint, doodling and to create in my art journals.

You will have probably noticed my new re-branding too across all of my social media, it is much less 'fussy' and shows off more about what I do and create. I hope that you like it.

Collage art a work in progress from the Brimbles Patreon collage sheets - Kerrymay._.Makes

July Art Journaling Sneak Peeks:

It's only the 8th July and I have a lot of things planned for this month already. I have started playing around with the collage sheets I downloaded as part of Mrs Brimbles patreon reward tiers. They are great, I love collage art and can't wait to get the full video and art work finished. This is still a work in progress and is not even nearly completed, but here is a sneak peek. I will also be uploading a flip book process video to my You Tube Channel for a snail/happy mail I have sent out this week.

Cosmo Cricket TN folder watercolour - Kerrymay._.Makes

In addition to the Mrs Brimbles art work, I bought a Cosmo Cricket TN folder and have finally had the time to add some watercolour paint to it. It was a bit messy in places so I covered it with a doily - (a happy accident). I've still got to paint the inside, but it will get finished eventually.

Junk Journal Challenge - Kerrymay._.Makes A Mess

Junk Journal and Travelling Journal Challenges

As part of my art journaling group on Facebook - facebook.com/groups/KerrymayMakesAMess we are having two different challenges for art journals; the first will be a Junk Journal Challenge. The details have yet to be finalised, but it will run from Aug 1st-Aug 31st on Instagram and in the group. There will a hashtag on Instagram and we can post progress updates. Use old supplies up that you may be hoarding or that you were going to throw out use scrap paper, old paper, doily's, ephemera and they can be bound however you choose (rings, sewn, stapled, embellished or not).

In the group there will also be a traveling journal challenge, done as a circle challenge so that each person starts with a book then rotates the sending of it with up to 8 people taking part. Watch this space for future details later in the month of both of the challenges. I aim to have a UK and a US one running together.

June Art Journaling Review

For June I started doing a few bits of art journaling starting with some doodling and watercolour of the 'Sketchy Girls' from Mrs Brimbles Patreon tutorials - I won't post all that I have created as this will be part of the full blog post at the end of the month as well.

Phew, busy, busy, busy I also go on holiday from the 31st July for two blissful weeks in Spain, I can't wait. Don't worry I can still take part in the journal challenges from my sun lounger by the pool ._.
