Over in my Facebook Art Journaling group we have just completed a junk journal challenge which ran through the month of August. I have had an overwhelming amount of people taking part and loved every minute of it. Such beautiful books and journals were created. I for one will most definitely be making many more, they are so pretty and it has been so therapeutic. I will be using mine as a Happiness and Inspiration journal to log my moments of happiness and likes as well as adding mood boards and inspirational quotes.
The images from my journal are below as well as a video flip through of the completed journal. You can check out the pages participants have made using the hashtag #kmmamjunkjournal on Instagram, there are some stunning pages. People have taken part across a range of platforms; on their blog, in the group, You Tube, on Instagram and on Google Plus.
For the pages I used a variety of different papers and vintage ephemera from scrapbook paper, old books, vintage cigarette cards, vellum, journal cards and printables which I used to make some cute tags. I also used envelopes and paper bags to create pockets and pouches. Finally, I added some lace and trimming to some corrugated cardboard for the cover which was hand sewn. I bound it all together using two large ring clasps and then added some pretty ribbon.

I hope to run the challenge again next year as it was such a success. I have several smaller challenges going on and mini challenges in the group that you can take part in, or you can simply just be a part of the community. Take Care and thank you to all who took part,
This week I have been making my first real flip book for a pen pals 'Happy Mail' / 'Snail Mail' in America. I have documented the plan with me / make with me process in the video below. It's so easy and would also make a great gift for your child's teacher or as a Mothers Day gift, just adapt what you fill the envelopes with (reward stickers, pens, herbal tea), the possibilities are endless. I will be making my next one this week as a leaving gift for a work colleague.

Mothers Day is fast approaching, so why not make a lovely D.I.Y Pocket Letter as a personalised gift or card alternative? I made my first one last week and I love the finished result, such an easy paper craft and quick to make too.
I have been planning on making a pocket letter for quite some time now after seeing a tutorial last year by Mrs Brimbles. I have been sitting on the pockets themselves for well over 6 months and finally got around to making one after taking part in a weekend of challenges lead by Michelle Mills and Louise Maylan as part of their Stampin' Up workshop/monthly kit. More information on the workshops can be found on my Scrapbook post.

12x12 SCRAPBOOK PAGE:
In the kit we has a variety of different papers and a set layout we needed to follow, but we could play around with it in any way of our choice. I chose my colours and papers first to match the summer holiday we had as a family last year and chose a family photo from the holiday, the words on the yellow cardstock really do fit in with my theme too. It is quite important (I found) to gather all your elements and embellishments first, but you can easily add extras as you create. I wasn't sure at first whether I liked the finished result, but it has grown on me and I now like it (I can be a fussy bugger!).
In addition to the kit, I also used some spray ink and watercolour, so added some A4 watercolour paper which I trimmed down to a square. You can see the process and materials used in the video on my channel. Click below to see my Scrap With Me Video or click the link here if viewing from the email subscription.
